Carex testacea (Orange New Zealand Sedge) is a striking, clump-forming native sedge, valued for its vibrant orange-brown foliage and bold architectural form. It’s ideal for adding color, texture, and movement to gardens.

 

Description

  • Clump-forming evergreen sedge with narrow, arching leaves

  • Foliage emerges bright orange-brown, maturing to rusty tones

  • Forms dense tufts up to 60–80 cm high

  • Produces small brown flower spikes in spring–summer
